About the Light Touch Pullover:

A detail of the Light Touch Pullover: the shoulder of the dark red crocheted sweater

This lightweight pullover exudes softness and feminine charm, featuring a subtle lace pattern composed of petal clusters. Open neck, gentle pattern curves, relaxed fit, and cashmere content of the yarn, all create a luxurious garment.

Light Touch Pullover is worked sideways in pieces. Front and Back are worked from centerlines to sides. Sleeves are worked from bottom up. This construction allows easy size adjustments if needed.

Choose your Yarn:

This is my favorite sweater from WC so far! I’d love to join this CAL but really shouldn’t buy more yarn…I’ll think about it hard. 😁

Stashbust, if you are like me there has to be enough yarn for at least one sweater.

This is such a beautiful sweater!

Wondering what it would look like in a shaded yarn.

When is the kit builder going to be available on crochet.com? I still don’t see it, no matter which browser I use.

Hi Angeline, I’m checking with customer service about your question!

    • Heather Mann / April 29, 2020 / Reply

Most of the time, what keeps people from seeing it is that they’re using an Apple product – iPhone/iPad/Mac, and the kit builder doesn’t show up on those devices. Not sure if there’s a workaround if you are on an Apple device. Sorry about that!

Can’t we just use our own yarn for it? I would even pay for the pattern, love the pattern but I have about 6 semis of yarn to use up, can’t buy more now with no income coming in

    • Heather Mann / April 29, 2020 / Reply

@marley, yes you can use your own yarn!

Is the small really a 44″ finished bust measurement or did I miss something?

    • Heather Mann / April 29, 2020 / Reply

That is the smallest size, but the pattern is meant to be worn with a loose fit and plenty of positive ease.

I’d love to make this sweater but I’m am allergic to wool. What yarn could I use instead?

  8. Teresa / April 29, 2020 / Reply

I’m allergic to wool. Any guidelines as to what I should use instead?

I guess I should have read the comment ahead of mine. I’ll look at what you suggested for her. Thank you

      Yay! 😀

Ease or not will this fit a large? Otherwise what’s the use? I don’t wear a small anymore.

    • Heather Mann / April 29, 2020 / Reply

Hi Jana! To figure out your size, measure your bust size and then compare it to the sizes listed in the pattern. We use measurements instead of labels like “small, medium, XL” to describe pattern sizes. This pattern has Sizes Included: 44″ , 48″, 52.5″, 57″, 61″ (finished bust measurement).

How much positive ease is recommended?

    • Heather Mann / May 4, 2020 / Reply

The pattern is written for 4″ of positive ease.

Hi! I sent a message last week asking about yarn options. Wool and I don’t play well together (in any percentage) and asked about alternatives. I received an auto-reply that someone would get back to me in a few days but I haven’t heard anything. Thanks!

Yay! I’ve done all the WeCrochet CALs so far so I don’t want to miss this one, even though I have way too much yarn. Of course not enough yardage for a whole sweater in fingering weight so… I’ll just have to take one for the CAL Team! Sorry, Yarn Diet!

We’ll miss you, but we totally understand, Susan!!

Hi Heather! Is there a formula or magic trick to increase the length of the body and the sleeves?I’m tall with long body and arms. And, I may not be reading the pattern correctly but I’m not sure how to get my size – most patterns I’ve work have something like: Back CH 81(89,97,105) to make the different size.I know the front and back are worked vertically, so I’m a bit confused. Any/all advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank you Donna

    • Heather Mann / June 30, 2020 / Reply

I’m going to check with the designer on your question, Donna. (For anyone else out there wondering, you can find her email at the bottom of the pattern).

      • Heather Mann / July 1, 2020 / Reply

The trick to increase the length of the body is to chain more stitches at the beginning. The body length as it stands is pretty long – measurement D 23.25” on the size diagram. The number of sts for sweater body/center panel is multiple of 8 sts + 1 + 1 Tch, so the length can be adjusted by adding/subtracting 8 sts. Based on the pattern gauge, 8 sts = 1.8″.

Back: Instead of 98 sts for Back you can ch 106 sts which will result in the length of 25″. Or you can ch 114 sts = 26.8″ – Back length. All stitch counts for the Back should be adjusted for the extra 8 or 16 sts.

Front: Instead of starting with ch 90, you can start with ch 98 or ch 106. All stitch counts for the Back should be adjusted for the extra 8 or 16 sts.

Keep armhole depth as per the pattern.

Sleeves are worked horizontally, so you can just extra rows at the top as needed.

The bust circumference size depends on your row gauge. The bigger the size, the more rows you make on each side of the neck.

I hope it makes sense! Let me know if you have any other questions.

        Thanks,
        Natasha
